SHITFUCKER - Album Coming Soon

Today, HELLS HEADBANGERS announces October 31st, that most unhallowed 'n' unholy of days, as the release date for SHITFUCKER's Suck Cocks in Hell debut album, on both CD and LP formats. One of the metal underground's best-kept secrets, Detroit scum-crew SHITFUCKER have finally delivered a full-length of filth after a prolific slew/spew of EPs and demos, under the fuck-off-tourists title of Suck Cocks in Hell. A power-trio in the grand tradition of early SODOM, VENOM, and MOTORHEAD, the three nuclear zombies of SHITFUCKER gnarl together ancient blackthrash and toxic hardcore-punk into a blown-out brew bubbling over with disease, degradation, and devil worship. Bow before apocalyptic witching metal of the highest order/odor: this is SHITFUCKER's Suck Cocks in Hell! Cover and tracklisting to be revealed shortly, but in the meantime, two of Suck Cocks in Hell's tracks can be previewed here: http://hellsheadbangers.bandcamp.com/album/suck-cocks-in-hell.

NORDVIS to Release SUMMONING Cassettes

Hot on the heels of GRIFT's critically acclaimed Fyra elegier, NORDVIS is proud to announce the cassette release of two classic SUMMONING albums, 1995's Minas Morgul and 1997's Dol Guldur. Privileged to contribute to the immortal SUMMONING legacy, NORDVIS will be releasing both albums in limited-edition tape editions, each limited to 150 copies. These two transcendental, nostalgic albums possessed a truly epic and groundbreaking sound for their era and added a new dimension to extreme music back in the mid '90s, cementing SUMMONING's legendry for all time. Thus, no better time than now to experience the world of Tolkien the analog way!

TRIBULATION set North American release date for "The Formulas of Death"‏

Today, THE AJNA OFFENSIVE announces May 14th as the North American street date for TRIBULATION's highly anticpated second album,The Formulas of Death. With The Formulas of Death, Sweden's TRIBULATION return to active service after working diligently on their sophomore album and follow-up to 2007's praised and heralded debut album The Horror.

Expanding their sound entirely beyond the gnarly and vicious death metal that was heard on The Horror, TRIBULATION's The Formulas Of Death sees a much broader and expansive soundscape introduced, favouring atmosphere and evocative instrumental elements to contribute to a very different picture to that of its predecessor.

Comparisons have been already made between the progression MORBID ANGEL made between Altars of Madness and Blessed Are the Sick and closer to home for TRIBULATION, the progression from TIAMAT's Sumerian Cry to The Astral Sleep. TRIBULATION's The Formulas Of Death is an ambitious project for these still-young Swedes, which will undoubtedly take time to sink in to be fully appreciated. The album is being released in Europe today by INVICTUS PRODUCTIONS, and has already garnered an esteemed 14/15 review in the latest issue of Germany's leading Legacy magazine.

HELVETETS PORT - Exodus to Hell (High Roller, 2009)

Been listening to this record all night. It came out in 2009 but I just bought a copy and after a few spins I still can't decide if I love it because it is good or if I love it because it is bad. Helvetets Port is like the heavy metal version of a solid and thoroughly entertaining B movie. That's all I can think of.

CONVULSE Are Back Bitches!!!

This is what the people who care had to say...

One of the most memorable pioneers of Finnish first-wave death metal, CONVULSE were there in 1990 alongside bands such as Xysma, Disgrace, and Abhorrence to create a scene which was to become legendary. Formed in Nokia in early 1990, the band was quickly snapped up by Thrash Records from France, and the future cult classic World Without God appeared a year later.

After an 18-year break, CONVULSE returned in 2012 and played a few comeback shows in Finland this year. The band has already been confirmed to play Maryland Deathfest 2013, with more live appearances in the works for the near future. A new CONVULSE vinyl EP, with two brand-new tracks, is scheduled for a November release, and a new full-length album can be expected in 2013. The band has signed to SVART RECORDS, who will handle both the EP and the album worldwide.

"Our new material has a strong old school death metal feel to it, and the band is tighter than ever before," says Rami Jämsä, the man responsible for lead guitars and vocals. "When recording, we plan to concentrate on the energy brought on by playing everything live - no triggers or ProTools. Nothing beats a well-rehearsed band playing live, be it on stage or in the studio."

...and this is footage of a new rehearsal...

BEDEMON Announces New Record

Today, SVART RECORDS announces August 24th as the worldwide release date for BEDEMON's long-awaited Symphony of Shadows, the first-ever set of all-new material by the band regarded by many as the original true U.S. doom band. The UK release date shall be September 3rd, while a special North American release date for later in the fall shall be announced soon.

Inspired by the goriest of fright films and the most menacing of music at the time, guitarist/composer/journalist/author Randy Palmer churned out the very first doom songs written on North American soil. This understated innovator recruited the help of his bandmates, PENTAGRAM co-founders Geof O’Keefe (drums) and Bobby Liebling (vocals) as well as schoolmate Mike Matthews (bass). Throughout the 1970s, the band recorded numerous sinister, doom-drenched slabs of metallic gold — Black Sabbath were Palmer’s idols — that illegally floated around on sub-standard bootlegs for decades. Finally, in 2004 to much fanfare, these rough, never-intended-for-public recordings were collected, repaired, and released as Child of Darkness: From the Original Master Tapes.

Since then, BEDEMON has seen a surge in popularity due to their intertwined history with the original PENTAGRAM, in addition to their music being featured in the critically acclaimed award-winning documentary, Last Days Here (Sundance Selects/914 Pictures), chronicling the life and times of PENTAGRAM and original BEDEMON vocalist Bobby Liebling.

Literally a decade in the making, BEDEMON now proudly issues their sophomore release, Symphony of Shadows. Shortly after completing recording of the basic rhythm tracks in April 2002, band founder Randy Palmer was involved in a tragic car accident and passed away in August of that year. O’Keefe, Matthews, and new vocalist Craig Junghandel worked with recording engineer Shawn Hafley over the next decade to finish the project both in tribute to Randy and also because they felt so passionately about the strength of the material; the result is nine bone-crushingly heavy slices of pure '70s-flavored doom metal.

Clocking in at just under 60 minutes, Symphony of Shadows will be released as both a single CD and deluxe 2-LP vinyl set, chock-full of photos, lyrics, liner notes, and intimate stories from the surviving members of this very special band.

Of the album, drummer/guitarist/composer Geof O’Keefe says, “This is dedicated to Randy. His songwriting is so far advanced beyond the Child of Darkness material. The album sounds like a classic '70s metal release, which is very intentional!”

SVART RECORDS president Tomi Pulkki heard the album and knew it was perfect for SVART, saying, “As a label that is perhaps best known for releasing PENTAGRAM and REVEREND BIZARRE on vinyl, I didn’t think twice when the chance to work with BEDEMON was offered. We're happy to help bring their final opus to the world.”

New BLACK BREATH Album

BLACK BREATH: Seattle Savages Go On The Attack With Second LP Seattle's barbaric wrecking crew BLACK BREATH have completed their second LP and are preparing to fire it point blank into the public's face this March. The forthcoming new platter, dubbed Sentenced to Life, is the highly-anticipated follow-up to the band's raging 2010 debut album, Heavy Breathing, which blew away fans of both hardcore-fueled rock and roll and crushing Swedish death metal internationally.

Now in 2012, BLACK BREATH's neck-snapping Sentenced To Life projects an even more vile, metallic sonic attack than its predecessor, bearing is a bit less rock and roll swagger and a showcasing more full-on crushing rage. The album is a product of furious creativity jammed into a short span of time, written in the seemingly endless Winter after returning from their November 2010 European tour.

Bearing 10 thunderous tracks in under 33 minutes, Sentenced To Life features such smashing BLACK BREATH hits as "Feast of the Damned," "Doomed," "Forced Into Possession," "Home of the Grave" and of course the title anthem "Sentenced to Life." The band once again recorded at God City Studios with Kurt Ballou, and had the finished product mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side. Easily the band's most thunderous recording to date, BLACK BREATH sentence every listener to a life of headbanging after spinning this motherfucker!

SAMOTHRACE Upcoming Record

After nearly four years without a new release, ambidextrous sludge purveyors SAMOTHRACE were in Soundhouse Studios in their hometown of Seattle with producer Brandon Fitzsimmons (ex-Wormwood) to being the recording of their second LP.

SAMOTHRACE issued the following collective statement about the recording process: "Working on this album at Soundhouse Studios with Brandon Fitzsimmons is amazing. We were fortunate enough to use the Rolls Royce of analog tape machines. The sound of rolling thunder was an inspiration during the whole process. The songs are as soaring and turbulent as the last album,
but a bit more mature. We can't wait for its release and imminent touring to follow."

The LP will tentatively bear two side-long tracks, "When We Emerged" and "A Horse Of Our Own." The hymn "When We Emerged" originally appeared on the band's 2007 demo in a much shorter and raw form, and has here been completely reworked and extended into a new song.
The album -- its title still TBA -- will be released by mid-2012 via 20 Buck Spin, who also released SAMOTHRACE's praised 2008 debut full-length, Life's Trade. More info on the new album will be available in the coming weeks.

THE DEVIL'S BLOOD To Release New Album Through METAL BLADE

Metal Blade Records is pleased to announce its union with THE DEVIL'S BLOOD, a hard rock band inspired by vintage metal and underground psychedelic rock of the days of yore. Metal Blade will be releasing the band's upcoming full-length album, The Thousandfold Epicentre, in North America on January 17, 2012. The Thousandfold Epicentre features 11 tracks produced with the help of Pieter Kloos at Void Studios (Eindhoven, The Netherlands).

Says founder and band leader SL: "We are very pleased to be able to announce our partnership with a partner so deeply rooted in tradition and at the same time willing and able to extend their borders to include THE DEVIL'S BLOOD. This industrious quality makes us feel we have chosen a partner who shall not sit idly by as their seeds are growing, but instead shall water the orchard with love and passion so the fruits may become sweet as damnation's wine. Our cult is growing, growing fast, and with the addition of Metal Blade to our family we shall endeavor to make the whole world dream the dreams of Death."

Adds Metal Blade Records head Brian Slagel: "THE DEVIL'S BLOOD has a sound that is quite unique in today's scene. Reminiscent of the classic metal and psychedelic rock bands of the '60s and '70s, THE DEVIL'S BLOOD has created a dark and haunting world made up of intriguing music, strong vocals and musicianship, reflective artwork, and a theatrical stage show that is not to be missed. We are extremely excited to be working with THE DEVIL'S BLOOD and look forward to releasing their upcoming full-length The Thousandfold Epicentre in North America this January."

SL comments further on the upcoming release: "The Thousandfold Epicentre has become a beautiful and horrible child, a child that is about to be offered up unto the Bull headed God. Within the flames of its creation we have heated our irons for the branding of the world. Within its words and music lies the entrance to the path towards the crossroads, towards the unending
singularity and beyond. Our children for Moloch! Hail Satan!"

BRAINOIL Through 20 BUCK SPIN

Oakland's punishing sludge power trio BRAINOIL are preparing to drop their long-awaited, bulldozing, second full-length, Death Of This Dry Season, set for vinyl/digital worldwide release on August 2nd, 2011 via the almighty 20 Buck Spin label.

The anticipated follow-up to BRAINOIL's self-titled LP released via Life Is Abuse back in 2003, Death Of This Dry Season takes the band's scathing, wretched brew of Bay Area-style doom/sludge to new heights over the seven face-crushing anthems it beholds. With members of BRAINOIL collectively having done time in Laudanum, Stormcrow, Watch Them Die, Destroy!, Dead Language, Grimple, Pig Heart Transplant and more, their sludge style is chock full of up-tempo crust-inspired breaks and monstrously baked breakdowns undoubtedly suited for diehards of Black Cobra, Iron Lung, Stormcrow, Iron Monkey, Whitehorse, Buzzov*en and El Dopa.

The artwork on the LP was handled by FEEDING (Jon K from Iron Lung with his partner Nic Schmidt) and includes a mind-bending 24x24 inch poster insert
created especially for this release in the instantly recognizable FEEDING style.

Death Of This Dry Season Track Listing:
1. Death Of This Dry Season
2. Gravity Is A Relic
3. Opaque Reflections
4. Feet Cling To The Rotting Soil
5. To Bury The Pages Of Existence
6. Crimson Shadows
7. The Beauty Of Death

Continuing the label's longtime support of bands from their original home in the East Bay Area, 20 Buck Spin is proud to help re-introduce BRAINOIL to the current underground scene. Death Of This Dry Season marks a welcome and inexorable return to form by one of Oakland's most noted acts and will see the band playing shows near and far throughout the year. Stay tuned for more info as well as promos of the album in the blistering weeks ahead.

RUNHILD Gammelsæter Solo Album AMPLICON Out On Vinyl

RUNHILD Gammelsæter boasts an impressive resume of accomplishments, both musical and otherwise. At 17 years old, while a foreign exchange student, she formed the influential doom metal band THORR'S HAMMER. Since that time she has gone on to create music with a variety of collaborators, including the drone doom project KHLYST and SUNNO))). As if her musical accomplishments are not enough, Gammelsæter also holds a PhD in cell biology from the University of Oslo, is a Fulbright Scholar, a model, and a painter.

In 2008, she released her first solo record, Amplicon, on Utech Records. Now, thanks to Little Black Cloud Records, Amplicon is finally seeing a digital and vinyl release, both for the first time, and with new cover art done by Gammelsæterr herself.

The first pressing is limited to 100 copies on clear vinyl with a clear center label that must be impaled through a record player's spindle to puncture a hole in order to play it. Each of the first 100 LPs also comes hand-cocooned in soft cotton webbing with a handwritten lyric line and autograph by Runhild herself. A digital download card is included. Pre-order is now available on the Little Black Cloud Records website here.
